| Re: sex ed in high school? Since there usually is an option to opt your child out if you don't care for the study, I don't mind sex education being taught at school. If there isn't one, then the class shouldn't be required. I myself had sex ed. in 7th, 8th, and 10th, during health class while in 9th it was taught in Biology.
I must say sex ed. isn't about what does sex look/sound like so I do think it was a serious error in judgement for your teacher, princesslady. I mean if you can't watch porn on the computers or read about it in the library, no matter how 'educational' it is, why look at it during sex ed.? That sounds more like a college sex class... like inner said, people can see public versions of it on tv or a personal computer or something ^^;
The only things that were taught in my class were people's feelings for friends/crushes/lovers, the parts of the body required, the process of fertilization, Sexually transmitted diseases, treatment and how to prevent them (heard 'abstinence' about 50 times that class), Protection (briefly, in 10th because a heated debate about the topic came up that year), sexuality (briefly as well) and rape/how to say no (those were mostly in those old tapes). Oh, and at the end of a biology movie we saw a baby come out. But that's pretty much it...
