Your idea is interesting and makes me think somewhat of Final Fantasy X. What I mean is Sin and the Calm would be similar to this. The decaying world as Sin and the bearers of the crystal that bring a temporary prosperity as the calm. And two people being seperated as well. But it also makes me think of fantasy RPG video games with temples to search and unknown foes to confront.

I would be interested to see what kind of characters you would allow for such a world and how you think of assembling them. If you could PM me these details and tell me what experience you have in RPing, I think there would be no problem for you to start an RPG here, but be certain to read the "rules" first as well. This is a starting section where not many still have enough experience to post posts longer than 3 paragraphs or even less. Make certain to be as clear as possible towards your players and help them throughout the whole character development and anything else.
