Re: Is Homosexuality a sin?

So frankly I can't agree with this "God doesn't send homosexuals to hell" stand. I don't mean that if a homosexual died and stood at the gates he would be denied entrance, but look, what is faith and Christianity if you just keep being homosexual? At least, at the very end, if you repent, you go to heaven. But I really don't think you can be a PROUD homosexual and preach the gospel just as proudly at the same time, because then you're just contradicting the words you preach. If you're a homosexual and truly believe that homosexuality is sin you'd be trying like heck to not give in to your homosexual desires (which I believe are triggered by Satan)... and only God can help you win that battle.

I have bi tendencies, I admit, and it's kind of difficult to shake off, but no one ever said things would be easy. And no, I don't intend to profess to the world that I'm bi and happily BE bi, because to me that's wrong. I know God wants me to love every other bi and homosexual in the world, but that doesn't mean I have to be one myself.
I hate it when people misconstrue the plan of salvation and state that people go to hell because of sin. BEING A HOMOSEXUAL DOES NOT SEND YOU TO HELL. Period and end of story. Now am I condoning homosexuality…no, but homosexuality is simply 1 sin, there are thousands of them. While you may not be guilty of being homosexual you are guilty of something else, fornication, lying, murder, hatred (which Jesus states is the same as murder in your heart), etc…and yes you are guilty of something:

Quote:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ( Romans 3:23 KJV)
Does that mean when you get to the gate they are going to tell you sorry…can’t let you in…you lied each and every day (and everyone does, even “white lies” & exaggerations are still lies)…that makes you a practicing liar…and since the Bible states:

Quote:
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8, KJV)
Guess that means your going to hell too. SORRY!

The fact is that sin doesn’t send you to hell which is why your theory is well, crap. The only punishment for sin was:
Quote:
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)
So then what sends you to hell? The bible is very clear that:

Quote:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, KJV)
The only condition for everlasting life was BELIEF in Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. Not belief of him but belief IN him. No where does it state that you have to live a sinless life because neither you nor I or anyone else can do that. Thus why Jesus died on the cross for us in the first place.

We are given grace for when we sin, the bible states that

Quote:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, KJV)

Now don’t get me wrong that doesn’t give us free reign to sin:

Quote:
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? (Romans 6:1-2 KJV)
It just means that God understands we aren’t perfect and gives us a means to be forgiven for it, while we should make every effort to no live in sin we aren’t expected to be perfect. So please don’t go around saying people go to hell for being homosexual. They don’t.
