-The word "anime" is Japanese for "animation". In Japan, Walt Disney, Tom and Jerry and Triplets of Bevelle are all "anime".

-The US usage of the word "anime" has come to mean "animation from Japan"... so if you want to use it in this sense, animation from China and Korea wouldn't count either, reguardless of style.
