As the darkness of night closes in all around you, your mind starts to question

Erie shadows shifting around you and cold breezes drift down your neck
Your adrenaline kicks up, your breathing shallows
Movements in your side vision, did you really see something?
The sensation of something watching you
Terror grips your heart with every sound that you hear
Is something coming after you or is it just your imagination
Foreboding makes your heart skip a beat, is it stalking you with a murderous intent
Can it hear the rapid pounding in your chest?
Hair stands up on the back of your neck, is it really behind you?
The smell of blood and stench of decay reach your nostrils
Two liquid drops hits the back of your neck and run downwards
Wanting to run but unable to do so
You tightly close your eyes and hold your breath.....
Opening your eyes again your all alone safely back in your bed
Your heart still racing, was it really all a dream?
