Re: Children of Today

The children of today? They make me afraid of the adults of tomorrow! I mean, look at all this foul language and lack of respect! And then, looking at everything that's popular with a lot of the youth these days.... "Cool" skepticism/denial, idiotic "liberalist" (for lack of a better word) views... Nine-year old girls are calling their mothers words that probably they shouldn't know at such a young age. Twelve-year olds are talking back to the adults that are trying to make society work. Younger and younger the youth try to "fit in"... Makes me feel disgusted. And then there are those mosquito ringtones that are gaining popularity in my community these days... My ears are extremely sensitive, and those high-pitched screeching sounds hurt my ears... And children in western society are definitely not as thankful for what they have than they should. They take everything for granted, they think life is served on a silver platter... They're totally oblivious to the fact that they'll have to work for the things they want, and they're just slacking off. It's all degrading society... And eventually, not only will they be stuck in a rut, everyone else will be, too! Ugh! Practically anything anti-society is valued in most of today's youth! I understand the urge to break away from a "greater power", but really, what the youth is doing is harmful to both sides...

But the children of today aren't the only ones to blame. Have you seen their parents? Spoiling them, spoiling them, spoiling them... Parents are being influenced by the youth's peer pressure. Cell phones, iPods, make-up, clothes that are "in"... Why not teach them to work for the things they want instead of rewarding them for even existing? if they work, everyone benefits; the parents and the children. If they just get gifts for the heck of it, it's not helping anyway... It's giving them too much confidence in their "power" or something like that, and then, society will suffer, eventually, eventually... And then the media and commercial industries are taking advantage at all this, this emerging conformist culture and strenghthening it, ugh...

Sorry if I sound a bit extreme. I am feeling a bit cranky.
