Re: How do you feel about today's modern metal music scene?

I totally back you up! TODAY's metal is the stereotypical stuff. there was so much originality in the 80's. grunge is what killed it, and from that other kinds of music formed. to me, this is just a fad. i sincerely believe that it all started dying w/ nirvana and everything else went bad from there. the feel and passion that singers such as Ronnie James Dio-Dio, Klaus Meine-Scorpians, Rob Halford-Judas Priest, Paul Diano and Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden, Steve Perry-Journey, and other vocalists have others from today's metal scene just cant compare. then the greatest guitarists ever were from that era: Yngwie Malmsteem, Steve Vai, Glenn Tipton, Micheal and Rudolph Shenker, Randy Rhoads, and Van Halen, only to name a few. not to mention how none of you repiled about the riffage remark.
