Well, I myself am a fan of Detective Conan but not necesarrily cased closed and haven't even been albe to find a descent source for manga. Even though I do enjoy watching the show, I can't actually say it is even close to being addictive or that incredible.
I remember a thread was made a few weks back maybe, that asked "how many episodes makes a good anime series?" or something along those lines. Now someone of intelligence said, "as many as it needs to be good". Detective Conan lost that chance quite some time ago with the ridiculous number of fillers and almost no plot line progression. After 500 episodes, Conan is still 6 or 8 years old, whatever they have him at, and in the late 400 episodes, the timeframe they mentioned adds up to less days than the number of episodes aired.
I enjoy it, and actually think it is getting better because something appears to be advancing in the plot, but I wouldn't consider it even close to being a real great title myself. Cased Closed really isn't even 1/4 of the original with its horrific censorship and classic quality removal. I hear the movies being released are unedited though right? |
