I nominate two people:
1. Sosuke Aizen of Bleach. One of the most respected guard captains truns on the entire Sereitei and tears it apart from the inside out with his arrancar army.
2. Prince Zuko of Avatar. Originally setting out to capture the avatar and gain the respect of his father, yet coming to his senses and turning against the fire nation by joining his target for the same goal.
