Ohhhhhh... the same argument some people use to try and discredit religion, nice. Unfortunatly you may not claim science to be infallible but there are plenty who do and DO take the attitude that an absence of proof is proof of absence.

Ok, seriously, yes I think there is life on other planets but why would we think we are capable of finding them at our current tech level and why would they ever bother coming here? There is simply nothing to attract them to us and nothing that would be worth their time or expense to harvest from our system they couldn't find closer to home.
