Still remember watching it growing up, most cars designed with guns or some ranged weapons of some type, while Speed has nothing more dangerous than a pair of saws for cutting through stuff in his way, jumping devices of some sort (still remember that sound effect. SHA sha sha sha...) & a lid for the cabin so he can go underwater. To be honest, I've actually managed to somehow get a copy of the song they did. Not the theme song, it's kinda the theme remixed with other stuff into a proper song kinda think. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but it's late when I'm typing & I think I'm drifting into autopilot...
I think I might have already seen one of the toys. I was in a shop a couple of days ago & spotted the good old Speed Racer logo. Having a peek, it turned out to be a deformed racer thing that uses a rope built into the back you pull to get it running. Thing is while it had the traditional Speed Racer paint job, something looked wrong, & not just the face it was deformed (think those "Cars" rip cord racer things, which also were nearby), but something else. Looking at the back, it turned out it was the Mach 6. Speed Racer drove the Mach 5 in the series, which still looks cool to this day. What's going on there? I thought they were redoing the Anime, but a movie? Hmmm, I'll see what others think of it first... |
