My favourite one would have to be the ending from Basilisk...
"In the end, only Genosuke from the Kouga and Oboro from the Iga remained, and they were still both blind. Rather then kill Genosuke, Oboro killed herself, overwhelmed by her feelings for her lover. Genosuke saddened with this marked Oboro as the sole survivor, and killed himself, where he floated with her down the river, like their grandparents...''
it was such a sad ending i almost cried..
