True, the original GP-01 was designed, though, so that it's core-fighter was the only thing that was needed, ta be swapped out, so that it could change from an atmospheric MS ta a space combat MS. The only aspect that the GP-02 had as an advantage, in that regard, was that there was no core-fighter ta swap out, so there was no need for a core-fighter ta b delivered. Yet once a space core-fighter is made available ta the GP-01, the GP-02's advantage goes out the window. In terms of overall design; the GP-01, in my opinion, still had the advantage in terms of versatillity and firepower (with the exception of the Nuke of course). I feel that the GP-02 was never intended ta b used as front-line suit and that it's vulcans and beam sabers were weapons of last resort, so ta speak. It would only rely on them if an enemy were ta get too close. It's main purpose was ta deliver the nuke and then retreat back ta it's home base of operations as the other suits cleaned up. Considerin' that all of the nukes were on earth, it would make sense that if u were goin' ta use a MS ta deliver one, whether on earth or in space, it would need ta b a suit that can function in both the atmosphere and space. With the GP-01 bein' capable of, virtually, the same thing; it would b an excellent suit ta support the GP-02 'til it performs such a mission; but it would also need ta b more versatile than the GP-02 ta b capable of doin' that.
