Yes i am positive that it is possible for guys and girls to simpily be best friends.
After all my best friend is a guy..lol... People ask often if we are going out with eachother cuz were are so close..but the fact is we don't see eachother as boy-friend girl-friend material....i've known him for so long he just seems more like a brother to me ... we hang out all the time alone.. and we have alot in common... but it's not like..ya
Anyways i know it is posible cuz i have plenty of best buds.. and nothing ever to that extent comes from it...
simply friends are friends and lovers are lovers
