yeah but what if you think that they're the one and their not and you end up screwing up your friend's chances of getting back with her? Yeah, it happened to me. Then he broke her heart and I hated him double for it. Now he's dating some girls 7 years younger then him and he's in his early 20's annoying I think so.
On the same note. If you're cool with it make sure your friend is so that you don't end up treating them differently. And for goodness sakes don't DON'T be jealous of your friend because you think that they are a threat to your relationship.

I've seen both sides of that fence. I've dated a friend's ex and she was the most amazing girl ever and we're all cool with it for the most part. And then I've had someone start stabbing me in the back so that he could get at my ex (not the same) who just happened to also be one of my best friends. Causing me to lose two friends until he showed his true colors to myex and broke her heart. Now I'm friends with her, and not him. So yeah, messy messy business sometimes it's worth it (believe me I KNOW that) but if you have to be sneaky or underhanded to do it then, it's not worth it. (which should be blatantly obvious)
