I can't really think of any seriously sad endings in anime, but I do remember that some bits of Howl's Moving Castle (Officially my second favourite movie of all time!) made me feel tearful on the odd occasion. Plus, there's that bit near the end of Kingdom Hearts II when Sora, Riku and Kairi finally meet, but Riku doesn't want to be a part of it anymore. That always makes me cry.
