Somehow I think you and I were sad for the wrong reasons.
My greatest sadness stemmed from how Lelouche was basically outcast from the Black Knights, had to petition to join them and was treated like enemy of the world #1.
The sudden change in plot. . . I don't know whether to call it ingenious or completely unnecessary.
But for sure that is what lead up to my emotional onslaught at the end of the series.
Well that and the death of lelouche, Suzaku's change of sides. It was just so much to take in.
