Try Ranma 1/2 or Maison Ikkoku. Both are my favorite series from Rumiko Takahashi, and are 'perverted' and quirky. For something that's longer and funnier, I'd for Ranma (I also think it's classified as Shonen?), and for something that more coming of age, college surrounded humor try Maison Ikkoko.(Seinen, i think.)
