I am an avid reader and really only put a book on here if it is good and I think someone can gain insight by reading it. "Have a Little Faith is certainly that book. Albom tells the story of two men one dying of various illnesses the other formerly the cause of many social illnesses.

A retired Rabbi asks Albom to write is eulogy for him. The story starts and over the course of eight years Albom shows us that know life lived is ordinary. Whether a man of faith or not the revelations and writting style will have you hooked.

How we practice faith and use it to overcome obastacles is the central theme of this piece comparing two very different men, both who rose through adverse environments to be spritual leaders. Often I have said that there are far too many interesting people to all have a book and Mitch Albom taps into the unsung hero vibe embedded in all our souls. While rich with context the book is a fast and inspiring read.

So, if your into the fantasy literature genre then you probably already know that 'The Gathering Storm' the first of 3 parts to finish Robert Jordans 'The Wheel of Time' series has just recently hit the shelves. I myself have not picked up a copy, but I was wondering if anyone else had, and were willing to give their opinions on it. As I understand it Jordan died before he could finish the series leaveing to his editor(wife) to find some one to finish it. So I was curious whether the flow of the book has changed at all with a new writer, or if its close to Jordans style.

Please give me your thoughts on the book that starts the end of Robert Jordans huge series ;)

If you could match anyone from any book up against a character from another book what would it be. Let your imagination run wild on this one.

I would love to face up Beuwolf against Achilles. Both have super human strength and endurance. But both are essentially human and both can and have been killed. Who would prevail against the other. I have to say it would be close but I would have to go with Beuwolf. After all Achilles is only good at killing men and so can Beuwolf but never forget that he also fought against a dragon and prevailed though mortally wounded. Achilles never went against a super human oponent or a supernatural one for that matter.

Achiles himself was an otherwordly opponent that was half-god. And that is Beuwolf's specialty. His weakness play exactly to Beuwolf's strengths. As for the danes weaknesses, there are few. Achilles element was water but the dane proved he can defeat opponents in water. There would be no refuge for the mighty Achilles.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

A grandiose poem at every spectrum. Mind you it is not my favorite poem but certainly my favorite start. It is beautifully structured but Macrabe.

Poem: The Cremation of Sam McGee (an abnormal way of getting warm in the freezing conditions of a Canadian winter as expressed by Robert Service).
