Sanity doesn't exist, it's just an excuse cooked up by crazy people to justify their actions. My myspace page: www.myspace.com/joemage

When mikael awoke he was in a soft bed. He shook his head. Was it all a dream? But a dream from what? He had no recolection of who he was before only that his name was Mikael Ashforth, first prince and high heir. That last part seemed as stange to him as not having any memories. Suddenly a great sense of loss hit him as an echo reverberated of the walls of his head. Who was he? Where were his memories? What voice was that? He cried. Trying to block out everything in a vain attempt to return to whatever it was before he buried his head into his hands his knees now raised up to shield him even more and he cried some more.
Cedric felt sympathy for the boy even long after he'd though all of his emotions were gone. It reminded him of what it was like for him. It almost made him puke. "Come boy, there is much to do."
"No... no no NO! NO! NO!!!" Mikael repeated like a child discovering a new word gradually maturing it to match and express the magnitude of his loss. He didn't even look up.
"Hardly deserving of the honor that's been thrust upon you." Cedric was becomming annoyed with the emotions the boy was evoking within him. "Now get up! you have much to learn and we haven't the time for this idiocircy." That sparked something within the boy.
"Honor" Mikael laughed. "I'm a shell, an empty shell. How is that an honor!?" His eyes flashed into the awakened state the three white dots spun once then stopped and reverted to normal.
"Honor or not you must become who you are boy! I came to meet the prince and heir to my kingdom and instead I've met a child! Put on some clothes and a maid will be up with your breakfast." Cedric left slamming the door behind him.
Mikeal was left in silence and he though about what Cedric said. Running from it in his head, he took the opportunity to look at the room around him. His bed alone was two maybe three feet to either side of him and it was small in comparison to the room. The ceiling vaulted over everything. The walls were bare but themselves were paintings of things that he didn't understand. Washing his face in a basin that was constantly flowing with running water he noticed that one of the men on the wall looked exactly like his reflection in the mirror only bigger. The man wore a high collared coat and brandished a sword in one wall and axe on another and many other weapons on different sections of each wall. The man was never merely standing or posing, he was always fighting something although Mikael wasn't sure what any of the creatures were.
At the end of his bed there was a set of clothes in the same fashion as the man on the wall's except the clothes at the foot of Mikael's bed were white with golden embroidery instead of the black he'd seen on the wall. He dressed then realizin his own hunger he waited patiently on the bed waiting for his breakfast to come. He became so accustomed to the silence of his own thoughts that he was startled by a knock at the door.
He was surprised at the beautiful girl that stood in the doorway when he opened it. "Come King Ashforth has requested that we dine with him this morning." She looped her arm through his and walked him down the halls resting her head on his shoulder. Turning a corner Cedric almost joined in behind them but was excused by the girl. Despite his look of protest and a mouth that almost hung open as if to say something they walked on and he continued down another hall as if nothing had even happened. The whole ordeal lasted only a few secconds but it still gave Mikael a bad feeling inside.
