"The Tragic Religion"

There's blood on the alter
Countless souls sent up to the Holy Father
Just one more sacrifice says the Pastor
But the pews are still full

Slaves to a scheming, benevolent messiah
Brainwashed people killed for an ideal
Standing before a burning cross
The prayers of a thousand dead spirits

Metallic blood stains the church walls
A doomed ship sets off for the Gates
Wretched screams are the anthem of the damned
The were denied, the All-Father shook his head

Cast out and unwanted, they haunt the darkness
Manipulated by the sympathetic shoulder of Satan
Transformed into the new army of Hell
Soulless monsters planning revenge

Devoid of emotion they slash and kill the angels
The last defense of humanity, angels fall
They never fly again
And the world climbs deeper into the darkness

One last call to victory emerges
Gabriele heads the last battalion
Stalemate rages over the killing fields
But finally, angels stand atop the defeated

Oblivious the sacred battle taking place,
Life goes on for people like it always has
But evil always finds a way into the light
The shadows are growing faster, faster

Still, all the evils to be seen have been banished
Ignorance is bliss everyone says
Forgotten is strife and sad times
But there's blood on the alter again




Darkened_Star's Poem

"No Heart"

I almost took your hand,
thinking I would be safe;
thinking all would be fine.
But instead of my hand,
you took my heart.

I watched you closely,
as you pulled it from my body.
It beat so quickly,
as my mind slowly fell apart.

I couldn't understand
why you took it and not my hand.
I wouldn't face why
I let you have it to begin.
I still refuse to say it
even now that were done.
Especially since you fed it to
that [witch] that set us apart.
The [witch] you call mother,
the cold heartless thing.

And now without it
I have nothing to offer.
Worthless and broken,
with emptyness inside.
Now in love,
I can't give my heart.
