Walking through the park, a group sees a butterfly coming out of its cocoon.
As it ascends their faces show sad smiles over a spring that will end too soon.
Standing on an ancient Greek battlefield I hear a faint sound.
Not a thing in the sky to cry, the lament is from the ground.
Listening carefully to hear, this is what it had to say;
“They fought hard in the rain as thunder cracked and Zeus’s arrows flew.
Several who were bad and also good did not make it through.
But so long ago even they who survived have passed away.”
Kiyomizu temple’s grand trees are set ablaze in Autumn as leaves turn.
Seeing it fills me with a sense of awe, all that escapes my mouth is “wow.”
As the leaves flare furiously I realize my heart also starts to burn.
Those I love will not last forever, and are never more precious than now..
It is a shame as the days go by faster we get slow,
A man with a scythe and hour glass reminds us soon we go.
