The Days That Passed!

A windy day brings to mind of a time
when people smiled and children flew kites,
dogs ran across a flower filled meadow and
life was so much simpler.

Times have been so sad and indifferent
people cry buildings crashing , terror everywhere
no safety for anyone , people mistrust and neglect
its all part of life's grand design nothing is perfect
forever.

People struggle as lives slip away into nothingness
and skies turn dark the smile wiped away by a sadness
no love anymore is there to be had only frustration and
aggravation no one really cares.

People laugh at tragedy and death make jokes of how
things are never realizing that it could be them , and if they do
think about it its only for a moment because there souls are numbed.

What ever happened to holding hands in friendship , is there
anything left in this world to smile about , or is it all just a fading dream
that came crumbling down when trust and love became a game , if only time would turn back to a simpler time.

This is a very nostalgic poem and I like how it analyzes life how it is, was, and could be.

But I couldn't feel any rhythm to it.

Even if a poem's not supposed to rhyme, it still has to have rhythm.

Oh yeah, I think they're using to day for judging and that any entries that come in today will be discounted.

To make things fair, I hope they do count it. :smile:

Very dark poem that makes sense cause with so much cruelty and violence going on now it's hard to find anything to smile about,but thank goodness there are still a few things left to be happy for. Great job.
