Fire's life,death and rebirth

I thought I might as well give another shot at the game. lol

Hope, dreams, love are all things that we have.
Disappointment, failure, betrayal are always experienced.
Standing on your own and fighting for what you hold dear,
Is what we do to survive.

The shadow of time approaches,
Last bits of one’s dreams fade away.
Thoughts and feelings perish in a blink of an eye.
Coldness and emptiness replaces what once was.

Time will always carry on regardless of circumstances.
From what was once thought dead embers,
A faint glow is seen and is gaining ground.
Carefully nurtured will become a sign of what’s to come.

wow, I am totally speechless.
I must confess that at first I did not understand the poem,
but after reading it twice more, I have seen what you mean with it.

this is a true work of art, and I believe that this poem will win.
so I wish to say that it is a great poem.
just one question though. is it about human life?
because I got the impression that it follows the life cycle of
the Phoenix.

I love this poem! fireandice I can understand what you are meaning to say though it. My favorite part of your poem is the last two paragraphs. I do think that overload is right that it your poem will win. It does sound like the life of the Phoenix but it can also be mint though love, life or anything else. Very good work!

Hum if you ask me it sounds familiar to what I go through but I agree with everyone this is by far your best poem and think it will win. keep it up!
