Forbidden Freedom

Caught in this cage,
Am I here till my dying age?
While all my pain swells,
On my memories I dwell.

Waiting for the moment to be released,
Rather than be held on the leash.
Away from all the world to see,
Unable to roam wild and free.

I don't want this life of misery,
I want to explore the mystery.
Of the outside, open world,
To see the glorious sight to behold.

I'm fed up with all this dreaming,
Can't you even hear me screaming?
With all this pain you've caused me,
Your not the person I thought you'd be.

So please not let me go,
To spread my wings and start to grow.
Experiences things other than boredom,
Instead give me whats mine, my freedom.
