Frozen Rose (Jul 17, 2009)
A soldier ripped up still lives as his blood keeps flowing out.
Nothing but gasps are made as for help he tries to shout.
Reaching for his pocket this grunt knows it is time to go.
What comes out of the cargo pocket is a burnt photo.
The sister and mother living in their native country.
This is what the fighter wants in final seconds to see.
First the brave man did it just to send cash to his mother,
Then wanted to avenge loss of one close as a brother.
The smoke is thick, a freedom fighter is choked by the smell.
At no one perticular with burnt lungs he tries to yell.
Near this one's heart the man keeps a piece of a tattered sleeve.
From the younger sister whose death he continues to grieve.
Playing in the park, a missle flew in, they heard no alarm.
A bright flash and shaking, then all that was left was her arm.
Joined a rebel band to kill those they were told are to blame.
To the parents back home the fate of their kids is the same.

Even as I am writing this brave Iranians are demonstrating and being run down by armed men. They are doing this because they understand that freedom is not free. Likewise people on both sides of a conflict fight for freedom.

Thta wa so touching.Beautiful but sad. I love it....................................
Thank you. Thiw was a very hard piece to write. It sums up how I have come to see people on both sides of the fight. In the end everyone fights for there lives. And even teh most ruthless of the opposition is themselves a victim of a corrupt world system that saw prosperity as a zero sum game and sought to maintain there power by exploiting other countries. They are enemies for sure. But they are also victims.
as what Leslie the forgotten said it was touching and Beautiful and in the same time sad , it have very deep meanings that really tell most of the stories in Fighters And Soldiers's life ._. ... =^_^=

Love Like the Wind You Can't See It But You Can Feel It
Thank you very much. Certainly this was difficult to write from freedom fighter perpective because I am a trooper and thnk with that mentallity which is why I need feedback from people in that region of the word such as yourself because i did not know how well I captured that essence. The military also has a lot of foreign people working in it such as filipinos from when bases were opened over there. They send money back home to there family. So I was sure to make the trooped an everyman and parallel that situation with what I saw which is people forced to fight simply because they had no other way. Their jobs might have been blown up or the head income in the house may have accidentally been killed by us in the initail invasion. Then bringing that to the family. Like one general said soldiers fight but families go to war.
