It is growing. I just counted 12 votes. That is more than the last time. That means people other than just those who write are getting interested. Zev is among those and god bless her. And who knows how many more before the time for polling expires on the 11th. This is becoming bigger oh yeah baby.

receiverofhell has been removed from the poll for breaking the rules.
The people who voted for this poem can cast a new vote if they want.
Edit: I've noticed beast did it as well so in all fairness I removed that candidate as well.

Yes, if you used multiple accounts to vote for someone else you would have been banned. Multiple accounts are prohibited. Read the rules of the site. You were banned for having multiple accounts, not for cheating in the contest by voting on your own entry. If you voted for your own entry under one account you would have simply been disqualified for cheating. When you brought multiple accounts into play you broke a major site rule and one that comes with an instant ban attached to it. That was the only reason you were banned, it had nothing to do with your poetry.Would I have been banned if i had voted for someone else instead of myself?
Wow, This was quite a turn out. I saw submissions from members who I dont typically see in the poetry forum much. That is so cool! Politics can be a real provoking topic choice. Unfortunately for me, it made me wanna run and hide...... I fail!
Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing more from Sazzy and TaurusDemon23, I also have some favorite poets on the forum who haven't entered POTM in a while.
While the cheating is discouraging, there's something kinda suspenseful about this voting method. Instead of just a fiew judges, you get a more broad perspective on which is the most liked piece.
And to the people who cheat, or plagiarize (reciever had been previously caught plagiarizing) I only have one question.... WHY? This is AO, you're not getting paid to post here, there's no prize of huge value for POTM. If the prize you are seeking isn't the knowledge that you write well, what benefit does cheating have? Credits? Popularity? What benefit is feedback it to you if the piece isn't yours? Recognition isn't yours if you didn't write it. Winning isn't winning if you know you didn't earn it. Even if you managed to "fool" everyone, you would know the truth. Is there not a part of you that feels pathetic? "Jeez, look at what I had to do to win." Also, look at the risk you take! The reputation and popularity you seek takes more of a hit from being caught.

I agree with you Peach Follows. The judgement method is way better and broader. Becuase you are not just writing for a spefic judge or style that you know judges like. It is better this way. This way also allows for limitless entries. Which is how it should be. One thing may mean different things to the same person. And while you did not enter the politics category you did win with graffiti which I still read every once and awhile.
"Each color has an emotion to match.
With every mark, there’s a memory attached.
In every drip of paint, I let my passion swell.
All these once cold walls, have a story to tell.
You can hear it, with your heart, so listen well."
People just don't write like that anymore.
It is exciting to be tied right now!
<<< Is always so confused...
Who won? And where is beasts name in the poll? (I guess it doesn't matter if the votings over?) I feel like someone beat me with a stupid stick....
I dunno beast. I am still warming up to this method of voting... But I do think it gives more members an oppertunity to show what they consider to be good poetry. And the winners know it was based on the votes of any member who wanted to participate, verses a handful of judges (who apparently felt burnt out on the job after a while).
I was skeptical about it @ first, but I am pleased that the mods have stayed on top of things and seem to be handling things in the manner they see fit. Works for me. Im still not sure I am in favor of the multiple entries yet. But, I may feel left out and eventually break on that too... (I am SUCH a sheep!) "Baaaahhhh"
I'm not sure how or why, but POTM seems to have attracted some new blood. That, to me, is the best part.
