Journey's End {Day's End} - Mechazawa


The judges all agreed that this entry to the most original approach to the theme; focusing on the journey as a single day rather than a lifetime, and "avoiding living" to reach the end of that journey. The use of non-traditional structure and plain, honest words matched the concept perfectly, and the description of the struggle to make it through each day was one we've all felt at some point. A great entry, and a joy to read.

This poem will be stickied and linked to the homepage until October's winner is announced, and Mechazawa is invited to be a guest judge for October's POTM.

Thanks to all who entered for your hard work and wonderful poems...it seems each month the entries are getting better and better. I'm excited to see what you guys come up with for October's theme of "Horror"!

Well, thanks everyone. My first attempt at something in the poem section was fruitful, I never expected it to turn out with me winning though. Everyone's entries were great, personally I thought RayMe would come out on top this past time. I guess I got a little beginners luck . I may have not entered it though, if I had read the rules a little more carefully to find out that it was going to be linked on the home page of AO though.

I'm looking forward to be a guest judge this months POTM, and hope I can come up with something that might win in November's contest.

Well you certainly get kudos from me... As you were at the top of my pics for September.

I hope you don't find it too uncomfortable to have your poem on the home page. I think its real cool to allow recognition to one's creations. And even more so gutsy when that creation opens a window to one's personal self (even if its just a small window).

Anyway, thanks again for this... and I really hope to see more work from you.
