Thoughts on Time

The Morning

Distaste for morning
Too bright, too early, too much
Sand still in my eyes
Birds sing sour notes
Waking irritations yawn.

The Past

Constantly haunting
For one moment’s peace denied
Self made chains bind
Past, unshakeable shadows
Old irritations, sadness.

Time

Please, make up your mind
Either too fast, or too slow
Always uncaring
Watching time’s hands wave goodbye
Tick-tock irritations, stress.

Just came in to check the poem out since I saw the POTM winner thread. I am not very good with poems so I didn't get the first part of it, but "The Past" and "Time" is so true and hits home with me very much.

Well the whole thing is about time, I guess I could've went with it being about the past present or future. The whole idea is that time is irritating though, and I currently have no gripe with the present or future.

So I went with times that bother me the most, and time itself. I'm not a morning person, I don't like birds singing or anything that has to do with morning. That's the point behind the first one, that its just another irritations caused by time. Everyone that isn't a morning person can agree to that.
