Keep Going

Planning on reaching my dream.
Climbing up the stairs of success.
Been going up for a long time.
Holding tightly onto that rail.

I'm almost there!

I miss a stair step, and trip.
Those at the top stare down, and laugh.
They laugh at me.
They throw rocks down at me,
trying to get me to fall.

My fingers start to slip,
and I can no longer hold on.
But. My dream-
That craving inside me. I cannot ignore it.
I will not ignore it. Keep Going.

I close my eyes, and hope that help will come along the way.
That someone will save me from this misfortune.
But no one is there. No one is on my staircase.
It is mine alone.
Those with the rocks are no longer there.

I've been pushed back on my feet.
I race towards the top,
the exhiliration of it all engulfing my whole body.
I make it.
I made it.

I'm there.
