Re: Gimp is back in action!
I can barely use GIMP now, and they are going to add whatever a vector is to it? I think its only going to make the program more complicated! I think I will just be sticking with what I have for now at least.
Re: Gimp is back in action!
Great. The current version is great. I'l like to see what they do with the vector section.
Yup, I am also a GIMPer. ;]

It may just be a set of filters that can be used to vector an image. Nothing complicated.
Sorry for the double post. I thought that my posts would merge as they do on other forums. :S
Re: Gimp is back in action!
It might just as easy as the other way of vectoring which is so time consuming. Naturally it pisses me off to a point I just stop and quit.
Re: Gimp is back in action!
Woot!!! Me likey using Gimp. XD
Though...I don't think I've done any vectoring yet...
Question: What exactly is vectoring??
Re: Gimp is back in action!
The only problem that I have in vectoring is that I get bored easily. I just want to stop within the same hour that I start.
The new filters may not do a great job though. PhotoShop has a vectoring filter but it is pretty horrid. D:

You pretty much have to outline/color the entire thing. You copy an image to make it look better. It is mostly used to increase the size of images.
Re: Gimp is back in action!
GFX Dictionary:
Vectoring - Creating an image a out of plain bold colors using either your paths tool or pen tool over the original image. Mainly consists up to 100 transparent layers and more.
Re: Gimp is back in action!
I'm a big fan of Gimp--especially since I no longer have Photoshop. ^_^
I think I'm still at 2.6 or somethin' like that. Either way, I think I'm gonna stick with what I have. I don't really care for vectors. Too time consuming.
