    Graphics tablet

    Dear fellow AO'ers,
I am currently in search of a good graphics tablet. To anyone who has any experience using a graphics tablet, a recommendation would be very helpful.

    Please take into consideration:
    -Quality of the hardware?
    -Price? (Nothing too pricey please)
-Is it well suited for: Sketching, tracing, touch ups.

Thanks in advance for the help! ^^

I'd like to recommend something out of the ordinary but to be honest you are best going with a Wacom. Wacom Products

the lower end models are still better quality than most others. if you are in the states you'll get them for an average of $100 for the 4x6.

the price goes up from there for more surface area and the higher end intuos and features you probably won't ever use.

Then there is the mecca of tablet tech at the moment, The Cintiq ($2500.00+) The pen alone costs $70.

I have wacom. its 8x6. Its really useful, though, sometimes my windows version wants it to bring up a popup menu everytime i press the pen down for longer then 1 second. Its really annoying because it stops the cursor from moving.

Stay away from the Graphire & Bamboo models, they suck (from my personal use of them)...the Intuos is suppose (I haven't used it) to be much better so I would say start with that one. Unless you can afford the Cintiq model, then of course use it.

I used a Wacom Intuos in college, and I loved it, but they do have a steep learning curve, as you have to teach yourself how to draw again with out looking at what your doing with your hands (Thats if you're not tracing something with the tablet).
