I'm like Photoshop challenged, I tried using it in High school, ended up using Adobe Page Maker instead it was easier to use.
So... in all the time I've spent on AO, I don't think I've ever seen this topic in the lounge. Which is weird. The graphics community on AO is definitely kickin. Though I kinda thought, like right this second, the gfx little sub-page is like this.
But this is totally different. Just a talk... about photoshop. And stuff.
A long time ago I saw a Homer Simpson tag as I was surfinng the web doing boring 14 year old stuff. So I checked it out, then looked for more neat little arts in a tiny rectangle. AO had lots of them. I joined the site, heard of PS then got my hands on a copy.
The very first thing I ever tried in photoshop was adding a neon glow to a b/w image.
Blah blah blah and now look at the gallery today. I have to say, it's been wicked fun watching all the different styles emerge and change, seeing the graphics get better and better. Getting better myself.
But enough of me talking. Let's maybe start off with a simple question.. what's the best thing about photoshop, ythink?
the love you withhold is the pain you carry.

Signature is a Gwenibe original.
The best thing in photoshop is what you can do when you experiment and make mistakes.
Try it. I made a sig out of not following a tutorial, but I can't post it yet, since I set it to take part in another SOTW.
Photoshop GFX maker, artist, indoor lover, gamer, wannabe gamer in some titles! XD
Photoshop and Page Maker are two COMPLETELY different pieces of software. One is a complete digital photo manipulation suite, while the other is used to design buisness/school documents and publications.
Right tool for the right job.
Yes, Photoshop takes a bit to get used too, but once you figure things out, its like a light bulb goes off in your head and you can do things you didn't think was possible before. That is what tutorials are for, to teach you how to use the program. Now while I was mostly self taught, I did have the benefit of formal college training with the program.
I currently use Adobe Creative Suite 4
Photoshop creates breath taking images that look cool even if they are not real. So it is entertaining to look at.
Oh I know, the only reason I was using the software was to design business stuff, etc. Everyone else made their business logos in photoshop, I just used Page Maker.
That was back in 2003 though, I may give it another chance, maybe the photoshop program has gotten easier or I have gotten smarter now.

oohh...photoshop...i just started using it...i got to tell you i'm not used to it yet...need lots to learn and more practices and do some experiment....but i think it's good for a beginner like me...
I actually started out using photoshop elements to make signature's back when I started Uni in 2004. Since the release of CS2, I tried it and I found that I go on with it really well. But now that I use CS3, the layout and docking the palette's really helps me. Especially saving time when it comes to moving the image out from behind all the palettes I have out open.
