I'm asking this question to get a take on what the most common screen resolution is among Animeonline's user base.

This issue came up in a staff discussion on what changes might be made to the gallery, particularly to the scans section.

The resolutions listed above is what my monitor can display (a Philips 107b CRT monitor), and are not necessarily what your monitor can display, so I added the last two options.

to put this poll up. this can serve as a guideline to those who wish to scan items or even add their own work to the gallery.
and they can use the most common res for that.
So now we can really see the pics in the gallery.

The discussion about scan size was about getting rid of smaller scans, and going in favor of accepting only large scans.

When making images like wallpapers, large high quality images are best. The smaller the image, the harder it is to work with.

I also remind you that the scans gallery here in AnimeOnline was originally intended as a resource for artists, not for random pictures.

Also, according to the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium, a independent group who help develop web standards), as of January 2007 1024x768 is the most common resolution with 54% of of users (Down from 57% in 2006), with 26% using higher resolutions (Up from 17% from 2006, which by the way is a huge jump, which can be attributed to the proliferation of Wide screen LCD monitors)

The lower resolutions make up the other 20% and account for older Monitors, Hand held devices and cellphones.

I think i normaly use 1024x768, but if not i use 1280x1024, sometimes smaller

Well, I use 1600x1200 for day to day computer use, and 1920x1440 for graphics work. I'd use it as a normal resolution, but my monitor can only display it at 60htz, and the flickering gives me a head ache if I look at it for any extended length of time
