yeah, guntanks suck and would be slow as hell..not to mention that the balance would be off on the top part of the tank.

well, they served their purpose, and in Federation vs Zeon [game] they are noticibly more powerful than a GM, but compared to the gundam, it sucks. but it was the federation's fist mobile...thing, and was ment as a tankt, so it worked out.

from what i learned in the uc, it's not the ms or gundam. it's the pilot that make them powerful.

I could see it being possible. It pry wouldn't be exactly like the ones in the shows, but I doubt it would completely impossible to make one. I think I would question why we would need them in general. I don't know why we need guys running around in 50 ft robots instead of settling scores with their fists or using long-range weaponry. I think there are more practical ways for developing fighting techniques than building something for show.

Though it would rock to have one just for novelty.

actually, a BuCUE from SEED doesnt look nearly as complicated as a regular mobile suit. four legs would better balance and distribute the weight.

it may be possible but not now in 20 years ir more maybe. It'll have a hell of a lot of gas or electricity

well if we started out with the ground types that couldn't fly or anything, 40 or fifty years MAY be enough time to make walking tanks. It'll take a lot more time to make anything more along the lines of an actual mobile suit. plus you have to get the militaries to actually adopt those kinds of weapons in the first place.
