I know there have been alot of gundam series already but which one do you like best?
Remember to place why...

I like both gundam wing and gundam seed... they have a nice story added to them. i like the gundam wing since it was set on earth, and the animation and drawing is somewhat sketch adding to the dark aura that a war should have... i like gundam seed because it adds a new twist of technology and all...

i practically hate the gundam version which had a character named shute... haha. i dunno... maybe because it deviates from the normal gundam we have... plus its too... i dunno childish and all. sorry to those whp like them... please take no offense...

I like jus' 'bout anythin' from the U.C. era, the story arc spans over several different series that tie together, for example; the events of Stardust Memories led ta the events in Gundam Zeta, 08th MS Team happens parallel ta the original series, etc. And all of the stories seem ta tell it all from different perspectives and not from one "general" or "specific" perspective. And it's the original and still, at least in my opinion, the best. I also like Gundam Wing, 'cause it seemed like a mystery that was unfoldin'. There r no really clearly defined "villains" in the story, evry1 had honorable motives for doin' what they did, except Duke Dermail and later Dekin Barton. Not ta mention that my fav. pilot and MS r from that series.

hmmmmmm.... im compelled to say Gundam Wing, but thats probably just because it was the first series i watched.

i might have to go with Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Its realistic to the point which not everyone is an amazing ace like amuro, heero or kira. in fact the whole team almost gets wiped out by a Zeon ace, wherase in the Mobile Suit Gundam Amuro killing aces was almost a daily occurance.....

ill give you that the end kinda sucked, but the rest makes up for it.

not a uc fanboy! i just happened to know when it comes to gundam because of super robot wars.
it's still the original...the uc. when it comes to originality in characters, stories, and mecha...the uc still is number one. why? the uc still is exists and it won't end like the others. i also liked the wing, g, turn-a and x.
hate seed because it's a 100% rip-off from uc.

the sd...can't blame for that since it's a parody and for little kids.

G-gundam was alright too, but it ended up as more of a Super-robot show instead of the usual realistic robot genre.

I can't stand the Gundam franchise.

Now you know my dirty secret as a tried and true mech-head.

But I'm also completely fascinated by fandom, especially the shift it's taken from being male-dominated to the brink of total takeover by women. The Gundam series, thanks to it's longevity, inherent commercialism and hopeless fan-whoring is a dream series for someone interested in fandom trends.

The silliest and most indicative of the amazing destructive power of fan-demand is Seed Destiny. I spent a year of my life following it painlessly and even fell to collecting toys, artbooks and doujinshi. I have favorite characters, favorite pairings, and used to participate in co-op arcade battles with the games. But most of all: we have jokes. EVERYONE makes fun of Seed Destiny. Especially Seed Destiny fans. As a standalone series: it's garbage. As a sequel: it's garbage. As a serious mech series: it's quite possibly the biggest hunk of garbage ever created. As a reflection of the industry as a whole: it's an incredibly entertaining testiment to the power of fandom and the havoc caving to every single popular opinion can create on a storyline.

I hate Gundam.

Maybe that's why I love Seed Destiny

Looking forward to ZERO.

May it be every bit as ridiculous.

I would have to say that I like the Gundam Wing series the most. Its probably because its the first Gundam anime I ever watched but still even that I liked the ideas of multiple Gundams instead of just one.

I was looking at all the post and noticed that there are a lot of you that think that the Gundam series is pretty good. I've never followed it but would like to. Where would be at good starting point? At the moment I kind of don't want to start off with the really old series. I'm looking for something more recent. Thanks for your help! I do appreciate your replies.

I absolutely loved Gundam SEED. It just seemed so much more into the gundam series, and was A bit more emotion and such than the others. It even made me cry in the last few episodes. That is very rare for me. Plus in my opinion, it has a bit more romance. eheh.
