ok i never really watched any gundam serie
but after ive seen code geass , i thought id give gundam a shot to

now i borrowed all the gundam seed desity dvd's from a friend of mine
but i was wondering

since there are like 6 gundam anime's what is the 1st serie and what is the newest , do you have to watch them in an special order or do they all
have an independand story

im not sure but i remember asking this question somewhere before
but then i never go to watching gundam
and i couldnt find a post about it here either
so im sorry if i did ask this question here once but i forgot
this time i will watch gundam cuz im watching the dvd's right now :P
so please help me once again

The first Gundam is Mobile Suit Gundam. Gundam Seed, which you have already seen, is the latest.

or can you watch destiny without having seen the original seed ?

seed then seed destiny...
the orignal is different..because it's in a 'universal century' universe. while seed is 'cosmic era'.
btw, seed is just a 'copy/paste' version of the 'universal century' gundam.

Well like rematche said it's Seed then Seed Destiny so if your planning on watching Seed Destiny then you're going to have to watch Seed first to get it

Oh boy...are you asking the release orders or the timeline based off all of them?

Well here's the release order...note that I'm doing major titles and by memory so if I leave something out or messed up the order...oh well.

Gundam > Z Gundam > ZZ Gundam > Gundam: Char's Counter Attack > Gundam 0083 > Gundam F91 > V Gundam > G Gundam > Gundam W > The 08 MS Team > Gundam X > Turn A Gundam > Gundam SEED > Gundam SEED Destiny

So obviosly MS Gundam is the first and the newest was SEED Destiny...to my knowledge. They have or they are going to start a new series soon I'm sure.

I know I left out a couple of the movies and shorter seris but cut me some slack, theres a lot y'know. Google it or go to wikipedia if you want more info.

Wing is by far the best Gundam and i am convinced that seed is a cheap rip-off of it (though still one of the better ones)

it's not wing...t's the universal century gundam. and by the way wing also copied some ideas from universal century too, like zechs' looks and his history.

You DEFINITELY want to watch SEED before SEED Destiny. It'll really bring an understanding to the character relations in Destiny. Everyone has lost and gained so much through SEED and through Destiny they...well' I dont want to spoil it so. But watching Destiny is much more better if you know the story of SEED.

I'd reccomend watching the 3 SEED movies to get the understanding rather quickly and cheaply. LOL, better buying 3 than 10 vol. of the series.

They're:

-The Empty Battlefield
-The Far-away Dawn
-The Rumbling Sky

...actually, I THINK that they released the 3 movies as a set now...not sure. I'll have to get back on that. ^^;
