yeah, the movies are pretty good. You'd probably like them better than the anime, since it does move a lot faster ( it would have to be to fit everything in). The story is basically the same, except some parts are very different to the manga and anime

Well this has probably been said a million times, however the story really tells itself. You need to understand Light's thinking pattern from the very begining to know what will happen in later installments.

About the movie, however, i've tried watching it. sure there are some things that are in the anime and manga, but other things are simply a bit overdone, or downright wrong.

Well really hes using the girls for his plan thats the only reason he ever dates or is going out with a girl to use them to get rid of L or to do something for him.

bassicly what hes trying to do is rid the world of criminals and all the things he does are just means to accomplish that goal

It seems to be about what one person would do with the powers of life and death. It shows that some people use the power as most would (for evil), but Light seems to want to make a better world. Its a bit complex and makes a good story line.

Ya i really cant place what the main plot is but i guess i havent seen it enough to really put my finger on it...i agree with Byaku guy though with the Life and Death Theory...

Its basically about some dude who finds a shinigami's notebook. I find a pretty cool anime show despite being boring during the first episodes. It gets better after the first couple episodes.

I've Personally Enjoyed the Death note Series So Far. Now The Story Line Could Of Been A Little Better But It's So Far Had Me Hooked. It's Not Really A God Mod Anime Like DBZ Where You Fly Or Die But A "Real Life" Anime. The Only Question Is What’s Up with "L" Is He A Fiend Or Something?

I think to fully understand the series you have to see it from beginning to end. By the end, it makes much more sense.

What I found most interesting about this particular story was the unique ways the the boundaries between right and wrong were blurred. For example, you had Light making the world a better place...by becoming "Kira" and killing criminals. Then was L whose sole mission was to bring Kira to justice...who ended up lying to and manipulating those around him in an attempt to do so.

Overall, I think Death Note is the perfect example of the saying "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
