![]() | Deathnote Banned ok, in China, virginia, north carolina, and washington death note is banned in schools(from what ive heard). some students have been suspended for making fake deathnotes and writing students names in them. they consider light a highly immoral character, and a bad role model. i can see where theyre coming from, but still what do you think about this?

![]() ![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned Well first off I had to check to see if the info was true and according to Wikipedia it truly has happened: Quote:
Yes, its something thats taken out of fiction but the fact is that no chances can be taken when such matter is in debate. But I also dont see the point of "banning" it, especially in a world that we live in offers many ways into obtaining such things like manga with ease. Its really all up to the parental guidance of these individuals and their morality. But the topic I highlighted in red is a completely different story. I'm not sure what to say on that matter... ~kuma♪♪(trying to bring out a couple of smiles in this sad world)

![]() ![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned I personally believe that the Belgium incident was nothing more than a prank from some med students from the medical college that was relatively nearby. The body parts were probably cadavers, especially with the fact that they were completely shaved.

![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned It's completely and utterly a crock of BS. For crying out loud haven't they ever heard of fiction! it's not like if you write someone's name in a notebook, they're gonna die!

![]() ![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned You're missing the whole point. A kill list is still a kill list. In this post-Columbine era, such things will not be tolerated so lightly. The school board made the correct and appropriate action.

![]() ![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned And although one of the points states that the officials did link the notebooks to the anime and manga, I really doubt this connection was made as soon as they themselves saw it. Think of it this way...if you were a teacher or school administrator, with no knowledge of anime/manga other than it exists (if even that) and you saw a kid walking around with a notebook labeled "Death Note" and a few dozen names scrawled in it, wouldn't you immediately assume the worst? I agree with Innerhell, these sorts of things can't be taken lightly; the moment they are is the moment someone takes it too far and actually starts killing people. |

![]() | Re: Deathnote Banned well whats the difference of making a hit list, and a death note? are all hit lists deathnotes just because basically all deathnotes are hitlists? i mean its different if it actually worked or was an urban legend or something. does animes like the Rose of Versailles promote lesbianism?no. so i dont see the diffrence. and banning it wont do anything, its not real,so its not going to happen because someone somewhere writes it down.
