Thread: Death Note banned in some schools!

T..to be honest i think their over reacting its only a show and is very very unlikley to happen plus just because someone writes another persons name down dosent mean much except for what they might feel about the person.

Man, this is some retarded shit. All of this fear......over something fictional. Man, society needs to quit being so........irritatingly fearful. Getting afraid over nothing...........Isn't that letting the terrorists win?

I love this! Death Note is a great Manga that really asks people to think about both sides and to see what is right and wrong about both of them. Death Note could go into a more philosophical level, but is just meant for teenagers enjoying a smart cat and mouse type of plot. I really think Death Note is the first stage for a young adult to start using their brain and to think about topics like this. Banning Death Note is a bad idea, however writing kid's names in a fake Death Note at school is inapporpriate.

Okay, I now that it isn't really right to make a hit list but come on!
It's a fictional manga that is really cool. But the thing is I think that it is really stupid that they banned it. I mean, it's fake, not real. So why is it such a big deal? I think that if people want to make a hit list then they should as long as they don't act upon it and actually kill someone over it.

hell, i think its kind of cool kids getting into Death Note more than Hannah Montana.
Besides, Death Note's complex story is good for kids, its a break from the crap we're normally reading (Twilight,etc).

I don't see why the entire Death Note gambit has to be banned. I understand about hit lists and fake death notes, but the series? The clothes? That doesn't seem like it would solve anything, nor even alleviate paranoia. That's like banning The Catcher in the Rye because Holden cusses, or the Bell Jar because it has the scary word 'suicide' in it. Death Note brings up topics that need to be discussed, I agree. However, I don't see anything wrong with banning fake death notes.
