OOOkay, why it was banned, i dont know because it is fake, but the only idea that I can think of as to why it is is that it promotes murder somehow, and also in another country, people were found dead with death notes near them. there was no evidence or anything, and it was never determined how they died for a few years after that, until they did an autopsy and they both died of a heart attack. Fear of mass histeria isnt much of a reason to ban a fictional thing though, it's not as if its some cultist bull-crap!

See to me it's like banning books about the Halocaust just cause it was bad. It's a fictional fun manga to read. They banned everything, the manga, the clothes, everything.. Ithink that that was really unreasonable. They should just punish the kids for creating it and move on. Don't you think that to?

Im not saying it's entirely true, but Im not doubting it either. I was a hot topic on the fansite for death note for a while, until eventually the bans started taking affect, now the death note lovers have simmered down a bit, but I still wonder about the two that had died during that time. People dont usually die from heart attacks at the same time!

I was just getting into Death Note when I heard that some places were banning it. I honestly, seriously, laughed out loud. A series like Death Note can make you think though. And I do understand the reasons as to why such actions were taken against the series. And I might actually have to agree with them. There are so many ways to interpret this series that it's scary. Also there are ppl who get so into a series that they honestly believe it's real and can really happen. Which brings about whole 'bad influence' thingy.

well, it's true that it makes you think but so does Twilight, Harry Potter, Fushigi Yuugi, Naruto, Inuyasha, etc. I mean there is always going to be something that makes you think. agree?
