Okay, since I've heard a LOT about this anime, I was wondering if people really do think its worth my adding it to my "list" of what I plan on watching. I've seen clips and such from things like AMV Hell but I'm not 100% sure if I want to tackle it or not so I'm looking to see what the overall "point of view" is on this; and be honest!! I've seen a lot of anime and I'm not really all too picky as long as the storyline keeps my attention.
Thoughts?
It does receive a lot of hype, and many drooling fangirls and fanboys make it seem like the "best show ever", but when the overblown hype and suspicions are dealt with, the anime itself is actually a rather compelling one. I feel as though this show does live up to the hype, as the characters are relatable and interesting, the storyline is compelling and rarely counts as filler, and the ending differs from the manga, but is a satisfying one.
All in all, i give it an 8/10. A good series with plenty of episodes to tide you over, but after episode 25 things start to go a bit downhill.
i love this anime and love the manga more. i was skeptic at first, but after reading and watching i found it is a great story with an intricate plot, and a gripping story i and i loved every moment of it . i dislike the hype, the fangirls, and the false yaoi fanfics. but still reccomend it.

As far as the storyline goes, Death Note is easily one of the best written Anime TV series to come out in the past decade. Besides taking Japan Anime industry awards for 'Notable' TV series for it's year, the original Manga story has also been adapted into a popular live-action TV, as well as the condensed theatrical movie release... The story has garnered enough interest that a localized American movie version is currently in preproduction...
Ok. Death Note is out of this world.. I think it's the most interesting show i've encountered. It has every thing! Drama, mystery, violence, romance and some time humor.
i would rate this as a 9/10

death note has gots all my 9s....and many of my 10s. Just start watching it! It's...unsettling at times...in a good way
I would say yes because it remind me of hell girl in a way and dragon ball Z, and you ask how does it compare to hellgirl and my answer to that is the Darkness and the edgeness, and why dragon ball Z you ask well like in dragon ball Z the dragon ball where the power of the world. but in the world of the DN The note book or books are the meaning of power..Quote:
