its meant to be dark. acceptance of that fact would make everyone happier who isnt for that reason. emo sure some of the shinigami brings that and goth stuff out.

yo i dont think that death note is anything but a anime that can only give insight from so everybody that is stupid and dont get that should stop watching anime.....................

Well, i think it can be a bit emo at some times.
But i think the creepy part is what makes me want to watch it more.
The emo and creepy part is the twist of the series.

I think that it is a a bit creepy but it is really a cool kind of creepy.

not creepy I just think it brings in the concept of perception when it comes to justice and peace. A question people have always had in their mind for ages. What if I could control who lives and dies? what if I was God? What I am willing to give up and do for these goals. It's very intresting That they gave the book to a smart kid going into college... They say you find yourself around the age of 16-20ish where you see the world for what it is and all that... to be given the power of death at that time of life is an amazing concept.

Great thinking and even greater the way the justice concept was shown from 2 very different aspects to prove the justice of one is the one justified over the other ...
