L's my favourite character as well, not only 'cuz he's smart & cute, but also because he reminds me of someone I know, and who I adore. Add that to his super cuteness + adorable habits (the way he sits, how he always twiddles his toes together, etc) + intellectual mind + uncanny ability to see things other people wouldn't.. yeah, you get the point. =]

Ok, my favorite character on Death Note would have to be L. I love him. I like how intelligent he is. I dream of being that smart. I love his quirks like how he is always snacking on something sweet. I also like how you can never expect just what he will say next. I just love his character. That’s why it really ticks me off when he gets killed. I didn’t want him to die!!!!

General concensus seems to be L as the most popular character...

I like Light the best. Sure, L's a calculated genius too, but does he show signs of sadism and sociopathy? No. And even without the Death note, I'd still like Light.... apparently for what others would call "all the wrong reasons".

Normally I'd side with L just because he gave his life to win. But I'm a total creep and loved Ryuk through and through he's superior to humans and he knew it. Proof: eventhough Light was doing something interesting to him (Ryuk) he simply sat back and enjoyed the show instead of lowering himself to the human level and playing along.

Like Corvus, I also like Ryuk. Not only is being a Shinigami cool, but he starts the ball rolling by dropping the Death Note then sits back and watches all the fun unfolding. I do this with Drunk arguing family members by siding with one for a while, then jumping to the other's side of the argument; and because they're drunk; they don't notice

I've always been the oddball, anyway... Not my first time I've favored someone depraved. I thought freakiin' Guildas was sexy... And, to answer your question, I picked Light because of his power. I thought about Ryuk a lot too... And yeah, I gotta admit, he has a bit of me in him too. Flicking the domino and then just laying back to watch. And he's cute in his own, freaky way... But that's just it. He's just cute to me. Sure, he has the power of a Death Note like Light, but he's not as controlling, power-hungry, not as intimidating as Light. He just doesn't have that aura of omnipotence like Light does... Though Ryuk is still damn adorable. I had trouble choosing between the two, actually...

I would have to say that L is my favorite character because he is really smart in everything that he does and I like the way that he acts such as the way he sits and that he seems to be addicted to suger, always eating cake or pie and using so much suger in his coffee.

So Yeah, obviously my favorite is Mello. Mostly because we share an addiction to chocolate. heh heh. Also because I can sort of relate to him...like always feeling second best kind of.

i have to say that kira is my favorite because he was able to outsmart L and eventually kill him with help from the shinigami and gain control of the group after he beat him so he was able to last for years
