They could easily make a sequel. The death note says that anyone who uses it does not go to heaven or hell. The writers could easily use this to send light to the death realm and make him a shinigami where he can continue his work. Actually, this was already done with the ending of the TV movie specials of 'Death Note', (where the 2 movies were basically a synopsis of the series...)

That isnt a true sequel though. I am talking a full on saga about light coming back as a shinigami but this time he wins. They basically have a break down of how they are able to prove with evidence that it is a shinigami doing the attacks. light gives his death note to some other moral figure. They eventually find this guy after some epic detective work, touch his notebook and see Light Light then pretends that he is in love with someone making them think that a shinigami must be in love to die. So they think they are maneuvering him into love with a human but in reality he is maneuvering them. .In the end he reveals that he neverloved the chik and kills her anyway along with everyone else who stands in his way. The chick for be his girlfriend from death note. Epic. Then he makes his perfect world and sits in the death world bored and miserable because there is nothing to do. No one iwll pick upt he death note. He and the other shinigami eventually die because they cant steal years from humans and light gets revenge on ryuk. The ultimate revenge. DAMN!!!!! Just brainstorming.

Well there is a prequel called "another note" but its not anime its a novel about L's cases with that lady(can't think of her name) that Light made commit suicide that said she worked with L before.

The only advice that comes to mind is to search for a Christian based practice.
