The Journey

I just stood there waiting...I don't know what I was waiting for but I was waiting. "So Allen...how old are you?" I was curious so I thought I ask to make casual conversation.

The bus moved through the night, for how long he wasn't sure as he soon fell asleep... Jeff felt someone poke him "Excuse me son, Soldier, i think this is your stop soldier." a old man said to him as the bus started to slow down. waking up fast he grabbed his things wand waited to exit the bus...

I stood there waiting for a reply. Looks like he was ignoring me. I thought well that is rude for someone who wants to help me sure is rude. I said in a whisper to myself "rude much."

Allen looked at her. "I'm sorry. I was thinking about something at the moment. I am 24 years old." He paused a moment and looked around. "How about if we see if that soldier could use a hand?"

As they were walking over there, he glanced at her. "So how old are you?"

They arrived right next to the soldier.

I was in my thoughts when he spoke and startled me. "Oh..yeah..kool...you look younger than that though." I said then he suggested we go help that solider. "Yeah sure lets see if he needs help....oh yeah I am 21." I followed him because he started to walk over there towards the soldier.

Jeff had just gotten his Awol bag when he saw two people making a bee line towards him. Both had pleasant enough smiles on so he went ahead and held out a hand. "Hello, do you folks know when the local rescue HQ is? My Sargent said they could use a few good men."

I just stood there as he extended his hand. "I am sorry I don't know I haven't lived here that long to know the place that well." I said in kind of a low voice. "But you know Allen over here might be able to help you though he seems to know a lot about this place." I said with reasurance.
