Can we get a section in the gallery for art and not just fanart? It always feels really weird to post stuff that isn't really anime in there.

as much as I like the idea, will this not create an even bigger quagmire of confused art submissions? We've got the fanart section, the line art section (which people mistakenly submit personal original art to) the comics section, and the mascots section. Its enough to make someone schizo...

Could we maybe combine comics/mascots/Art under a new "Original Art" section.
Rename the Line Art section or move under Scans category. Retain the Fanart section...I think that two galleries is more than enough for the random poop that gets submitted, mine included. We aren't f**king devART :P

either way its gonna be a pain in the ass for the gallery mods, they probably need to chime in first since they'll be dealing with it.

Yep, am happy with a gallery for art. Awaiting chime in from gallery mods. Would mean moving existing artwork to the art gallery.

I have just moved LineArt gallery from: Member category --> Art Showcase category.

Line Art belongs under scans. It doesn't feature any user-drawn work.

As for more fanart/artwork sections: I'm against them for the time being (until we can clean and consolidate what we already have).

We've been denied new sections for active, clean sections because they would clutter the gallery (backgrounds, elements, scans>mecha)... it seems unfair and counterproductive to add sections to areas that we haven't already cleaned (and are already cluttered with largely unused sub-categories ~ mascots, manga, etc).

Someone needs to clean out fanart before we break it up any further.

And if we're going to add new categories: we need to nix/merge some of the unused ones (mascots needs to go... we've been saying this forever and a day)

"mascots" can be merged to fanart for the time being.

And I guess we need to figure out how we're going to divy up the task of cleaning out the fanart section before going much further with anything else.
