jade's not my biggest fan, but he seems to be planning a gallery flood -- so can someone talk to him about crediting his images (I'm fairly certain he didn't scan 200 artbooks in entireity overnight), tagging them, and putting them in the right categories (I'm moving all the earthian scans to the male category now)?

It's going to be a lot to move or delete if he really uploads all he says he's going to without those ^^;

That is the problem with scans, unless they are "water marked" you can't be certain they were not scanned by the uploader. I will agree that 200 art books in entirety seems unlikely but then again there aren't sites out there which offer even a few downloads of entire art books either.

I can't say I have ever been that close to Jade in order for me to PM him about it without pissing him off more, and frankly the gallery could use the images but I won't argue that they should be properly tagged if he didn't scan them.

Is there anyone on the staff that can talk to Jade with pissing him off?

I'm more concerned about him dumping images in the wrong categories with default titles, no tags and no descriptions at all... requiring us to move, retitle, retag and/or remove all of them OR severely limit the usefulness of the current search configuration (which, admittedly stinks... but I've REALLY tried to "make work").

Though if we delete others' submissions for lacking credit: his should be no exception.

I'm usually pretty lenient if there's doubt... but if he doesn't know that the Earthian characters are male: I'm pretty sure he doesn't own Yun Kouga (a boys' love artist) artbooks... much less has scanned them himself

I don't care if he lies about where he got them (ie. "from 4chan" or "from rapidshare" on every single one). But he needs to be accountable for the rule like everyone else.

I'm not worried about pissing jade off. I'm worried that whatever I say to him will then cycle back to DB and be overturned because he complains (which is what happened last time I said anything to him about anything). I've mentioned it in-thread... with care to be "gentle"... but I don't know if it'll take.

-Every single one was in the wrong category (group)... including one of a single character (so it couldn't have just been a case of mistaken gender).

-filenames aren't exactly compelling titles: ie. earthian1, earthian2, earthian3, earthian4 (which is how they were all titled)

-5 of the set weren't tagged at all, the other were tagged with "Earthian", "EArthian", "Earth" (all three would be accomplished with the single "Earthian" tag)... and vague obvious terms like "scans" or "images", etc. ie. no character names or descriptive terms + one false tag (Earth) which has nothing to do with the series, the images and would already index with "Earthian" anyway.

In other words... his submissions seem to imply a general lack of effort all around. Which, while it isn't a HUGE problem on a few scans, could be a huge issue if he starting upping 50-100 at a time.

Please let me know next time he does this and I will PM him right away with real examples of where he went wrong.

More problems today... one resulting in an infraction (which will probably earn me an incredibly nasty email)

-one image uploaded of 700x300 resolution (under the guidelines posted) ... infraction given (since he isn't a new user or a new gallery uploader)

-one image in the wrong section (an image with only females in the "Group" section)

-he's uploaded a bunch of hardcore sex images, but none have the "adult material" square checked... I'm not sure how much of a problem this actually is... is the hentai gallery excluded from search and auto toggled adult only? If so, what's the point of the button at all... since all images with adult material would go in the hentai gallery.

still no credits on anything, one upload appears to be fanart, (though there's not much we can do about that unless it becomes obvious the images aren't his own work). This isn't a huge problem.

PS. is there any way to get more specific gallery infractions? Pretty much the only gallery infractions currently are "inappropriate image upload" and "plagiarism" both which carries pretty steep fines.
