I honestly can't believe I fell for it

I actually thought he made that wallpaper, and while doing a google image search for material for a bleach wallpaper, I found the original, and get this, it was the first result.

Here's the website where you can get it from (For 1337 Gamers), and here are the two wallpapers side by side.

Interesting find. There are slight difference eg: with the moon and stars. Are wallpapers only supposed to be made from renders? I doubt it. How much editing is required from an original to call it your own wallpaper? Either way, I do believe he hasn't edited it enough to call it his own. Will give him an infraction now.

Using someone else's edited or drawn artwork as a basis for your own is still ripping. Unless it is done with permission and/or credit.

As all Xelhes has done is paste a few stars and swirls on top of someone else's wall: it's theft.

Usually additions are made in attempt to cover a theft, not as genuine additions.

Like high school kids taking a paper off the internet and changing around the words so they can say "it's not the same so I didn't plagiarise!"

I layered the two images using the Difference Blending option (Which, when you do that with similar images, if the two match up perfectly, all you see is black), with the exception of the fact that he stretched it a bit, the two line up almost identical.

Its a rip, pure and simple.

If you are a thruly waller yes,not only of renders but your own renders. Taking others wallpapers and doing minor changes is stealing.

The walls on that "other" site aren't theirs either but there is clearly a tag by the original waller on that and it isn't him. Makes me wonder if he "makes" his sigs...I mean if he has talent to make a sig..walls aren't much different.

I just can't believe the bad quality of it, I mean if he was going to steal something he could have at least made it look nice...my worst wall attempt when I didn't know crap about GFXs was better than that

Well somethiong doesnt match here... That render is only 800x640 and his wallpaper is 1280x800... I think that would be too much of a stretch...

I would say keep the infraction for the attitude...
