I know a while back we purged members who didn't have a post count here on AO but this has caused issues with the gallery as well. Now images are out there and they have no "owner" per say. Meaning you can still see the image but the username is blank.

How should we go about handling this? Leave it or delete the user's gallery?

To answer you I have another set questions for you...

Does it really matter if the have no user attached to?

Is it really worth purge those images from the gallery, and make the gallery mods do the extra work?

Do we want the gallery downsized any further with those deletions?

I don't much care either way but my questions to you is what if it was your gallery and after your "time away" you came back here and noticed 1) you don't have an account here and 2) your images in the gallery can't be seen, edited or removed by you, even though they are your images?

My point is it has multiple angles, hasn't been discussed and I thought it should be.

if you find them, delete them.

Especially in the case of walls, fanart, member photos, etc... since essentially they are fanworks and personal photos that we have "stolen" or made anonymous by removing the credits (without the user's permission to use them in a creditless state).

I wouldn't go looking for them... but if they come up, I've been deleting them right along.

I think i've seen this, or herd this being mentioned before. I wouldnt care or mind getting rid of them. *needs to be useful...*,

Chief is kinda right, though the possibility of these members coming back may be minuscule it is still a possibility. Even so, it really isnt that big of a matter, seeing how the purging was due to a forum clean up, they cant really blame us.(nothing a simple email cant fix).

I wouldnt mind keeping them (some are very nice ones and they are some credited,since no member is attached to it, theres no possiblity of plagiarism), but if we dont want to take any chances, I'm willing to do the grunt work to make it happen.

It would also help if the GalleryAdmin System had a 'Find gallery for [user]" in the Bulk Actions for some quick slicing
